Everyday Care for Dentures and Partials
Removable dentures and partial dentures need regular cleaning, safe handling, and periodic evaluation of their fit.
Clean the appliance and your mouth
Remove and clean the denture as directed. Also clean the gums, tongue, and any remaining teeth.
Fit can change
Bone and soft tissues change over time, and a denture can become loose even when it is not visibly damaged.
Do not adjust it yourself
Home repair kits, household glue, or bending clasps can damage the appliance. A dental office can determine whether adjustment, repair, relining, or replacement is appropriate.
