Professional Teeth Whitening
Professional whitening is designed to lighten stains in natural tooth enamel under dental supervision.
What whitening can change
Whitening can improve many surface and internal stains in natural teeth, but the result depends on the type of discoloration and individual response.
Restorations do not whiten the same way
Crowns, veneers, fillings, and other restorations do not respond to bleaching like natural enamel. Existing restorations may affect treatment planning when visible teeth are being whitened.
Sensitivity and suitability
Temporary sensitivity can occur. A dental evaluation helps identify cavities, gum problems, cracks, or other concerns that should be addressed before whitening.
Individual care matters: Treatment recommendations depend on an examination, health history, diagnosis, and individual needs. Call the office to discuss whether evaluation, treatment, or referral is appropriate.
