Dental Bonding

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored resin to change or repair selected areas of a tooth with a conservative restorative approach.

Common uses

Bonding may be considered for small chips, minor shape changes, closing selected spaces, or repairing limited areas of damage when the tooth and bite are suitable.

What to expect

The tooth-colored material is placed, shaped, hardened, and polished. The amount of tooth preparation varies with the reason for treatment.

Limitations

Bonding is not the best option for every cosmetic or structural concern. Larger defects, heavy bite forces, or extensive changes may call for a veneer, crown, orthodontic treatment, or another approach.

Individual care matters: Treatment recommendations depend on an examination, health history, diagnosis, and individual needs. Call the office to discuss whether evaluation, treatment, or referral is appropriate.
