Dentist consulting with a patient

Why Regular Dental Visits Matter

Regular dental visits support prevention, professional cleaning, and early evaluation of changes in the teeth and gums.

What happens at preventive visits

A preventive visit may include review of health changes, examination of teeth and gums, professional cleaning, appropriate radiographs, and recommendations based on your individual risk and history.

Home care still does the daily work

Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and clean between teeth daily. A healthy diet that limits frequent sugar exposure also supports cavity prevention.

Your schedule can be individualized

Some patients benefit from more frequent maintenance because of gum disease, decay risk, medical conditions, orthodontic appliances, or other factors. Follow the interval recommended by your dental team.
